Welcome to my new blog!
I am so excited to be writing again. The last time I blogged was 2013 and so many new and wonderful things have happened in my life since then.
About two or three years ago, I taught myself how to crochet, which I thoroughly love and enjoy. Coming from a long line of amazing women who quilt, crochet, sew, knit, draw or just do basically anything crafty, I thought the gene had skipped me altogether so when it came completely natural, I was over the moon to say the least. So no doubt there will be plenty of crochet posts and updates on what I'm up to there.
I have now become involved with a rescue organisation called Kitt Kat Care; fostering mostly cats/kittens who have been on death row. Occasionally we have the odd puppy or doggy too. Through the organisation, they are all vet checked, wormed, fleaed, microchipped, vaccinated and desexed while in foster care and then get rehomed through application to wonderful new furever homes. It has been an absolute pleasure, although hard at times, to have been involved over the last 12 mths and I could not have done it without the love and support of my amazing partner, Davey.
So what am I doing or working on now? Well, crochet wise, I have started to make beanies and scarves for the homeless for winter. I have a Facebook page called Crochet for the Homeless. I am also trying to collect donations from anyone who does not crochet or does not have the time to, of jumpers, beanies, scarves, blankets; basically anything that will keep them warm on the harsh cold conditions of the streets during winter. These will then be handed on to street teams in major cities, e.g., Sydney & Brisbane, to get to those most in need. Having lived in Sydney a short while, I was exposed to this a lot and always wanted to do more and now I am hoping that I can.
I am also trying to find furever homes for our foster babies. If you happen to be interested in any listed then please go to the Facebook group Kitt Kat Care, contact Mika Dargie for an application form and the proceedings can begin.
Penny, $125
This glorious Queen likes to lounge and sleep all day preferably on your bed. She doesn't get along well with other cats so needs to be in a one cat household however small dogs she doesn't mind. She loves attention so snuggles and pats are always welcome and she loves the outdoors.
Catness, $125
This pretty princess loves to sleep on your bed or pizza boxes haha. She is so quiet that you barely even know she's there. She loves a snuggle and a pat. She doesn't mind other cats as she potters around doing her own thing anyway.

This gorgeous girl has the tiniest meow and her purr sounds just like a gremlin (Gizmo). She has the most amazing markings and is a very quiet little mouse. She likes to keep to herself and would be suited to a quiet home. She loves to sleep in the linen cupboard.

Phoebe, 2 yrs 6 mths, $125
This lovely young lady is super affectionate and will stand on her two back legs to reach up for a pat. She likes to let you know she is there and makes sure to let you know when it is dinner time. Phoebe mothered five sons who are also up for adoption.

Super fluffy and loves to play and cuddle. He likes to explore and find interesting things to play with. He gets along with other cats and small dogs. Neo is one of Phoebe's boys. His fur feels just like velvet.

Tux is our scaredy baby. Extremely timid and shy and likes to stay hidden away. With time our little man will grow to learn that the world is a safe place and humans can be trusted. He is another of Phoebe's babies.
